MARINA FERNÁNDEZ

Marina Fernández Ramos is co-director of C + arquitectas, associate professor of the Grado en Diseño Integral, URJC university. She is the art director of Supertrama, Public Art Program of Extremadura. Through Submarina Estudio she explores participatory processes, collaborative practices in public spaces and craftivism. She is the founder of Tejiendo la Calle, a collaborative project in which the inhabitants of Valverde de La Vera (Cáceres, Extremadura) transform the public space of their town  through light hand-woven structures as sunshades. They crochet and reuse plastic from shopping bags and packagings. She makes projects like Voladoras, a shadow-generating ephemeral installation in Plaza Matadero, or Vegetable Ecosystem, with Marta García and Ana Cebrían from Pedagogías Invisibles. In this project they build sculptures together with students with intellectual disabilities for the garden where they play at Buenafuente school, Madrid.
